2007 High Points Championshipby Gail McGuire, Activities Director Finger Lakes Region continues strong in membership and in all areas of activity. Over 300 members accumulated points for the 2007 high points championship. Dear to my heart are the large number of family relationships passing on the love of automotive activities. These young enthusiasts will be our future competitors, workers and leaders. To acknowledge this I initiated the first family award. While many qualify, the family with the most points was the Bucknam gang, Chris, Joyce and Jacob. Congratulations! In the individual category, the all-around competitor and worker Alan Smith won with 353 points. A fairly new member, hard worker and fast competitor, Marnie Soom, was second with 279. Third went to new father, Cory Kuhns, with 248. The club can’t enjoy all the activities we do without super volunteers, of which we have many. Again leading that category is Barb Lissow. Thank you! Honorable mentions go to the all reliable Mike Toombs, Carl Dresie and Lew Giesy. A special thanks to Dave Avery for stepping up once again. Forty people attended the picnic in Mendon Ponds Park on October 20th. Elizabeth Thiel did her usual awesome job at food and organization. Thanks to all that helped set up and clean up. The first annual Bocce ball championship was held with Jerry Kerwin and Steve Kittelberger sneaking out a late comeback to win 11 to 8 over Gail McGuire and Ellen Clouser. Don’t forget the January 19th banquet at the Avon Inn. See ya there, or be square. Inexpensive room rate is available, also. Thanks, Gail [ Home ] |
