TOPEKA, Kan. (Jan. 24, 2006) – Sports Car Club of America, Inc. and subsidiary SCCA Pro Racing Ltd. have announced several title and position changes in its operations, technical and marketing staffs. The announcements come on the heels of the resignation of Vice President of Marketing Garret Mudd, who has taken a position with Champ Car.

Effective immediately, three current staff members receive new titles, including Eric Prill (SCCA/SCCA Pro Racing Director of Marketing Communications), Lynda Randall (SCCA Pro Racing Director of Operations) and Harry Turner (SCCA Pro Racing Senior Technical and Race Operations Director).

“While it’s never good to lose a quality member from your staff, when someone is recruited away, it’s generally a sign that the individual has left your company in a better position than when they arrived,” SCCA Acting President Gary Pitts said. “Garret was SCCA’s first-ever marketing executive, and helped develop campaigns and marketing initiatives that were not only new to SCCA, but quite effective. He also had a major influence on SCCA Pro Racing and, in particular, SPEED World Challenge.

“We have extreme confidence in the abilities of the remaining staff to carry out the initiatives for 2006 as well as provide leadership for the future. We’re also confident that the remaining executive leadership positions for both SCCA and SCCA Pro Racing will be filled soon.”

Prill, the former Director of Communications, has accepted an expanded role, absorbing many of the marketing components overseen by Mudd. In addition to overseeing the Communications department, which handles public and media relations as well as electronic and print communications, he will now direct all marketing initiatives and advertising campaigns.

Prill joined the SCCA Pro Racing staff in late 1996, shortly after graduating from Miami University, and expanded his roles to include the parent company in 2002.

Randall joined the SCCA Pro Racing staff in late 2004 as the Pro Racing Manager. Her duties will expand as Director of Operations to oversee business operations of the company, its in-house and sanctioned series.

An active member in the automotive industry for more than 20 years, Randall came to the SCCA Pro Racing staff after a 10-year stint at Skip Barber Racing Schools, where she was the National Purchasing Manager.

Formerly SCCA Pro Racing’s Senior Technical Director, Turner will expand his role in event operations in 2006 to become the primary point of contact and liaison with event management and other sanctioning bodies at SCCA Pro Racing races. This new role assumes many of the duties performed on site by Mitch Wright, who was the company’s VP and General Manager through 2005. Turner will continue to oversee the SCCA Pro Racing Technical staff on a day-to-day basis.

A member of the SCCA Pro Racing staff since the beginning of the 2005 season, Turner previously worked at General Motors for more than 30 years. He received his Mechanical Engineering degree from Illinois and his MBA from Oakland University.

In the coming weeks, further announcements will be made regarding the executive leadership of both companies.
