SCCA Offers Free Entry to United States Road Rally Challenge To Each Region
TOPEKA, Kan. (March 29, 2006) – SCCA’s
Rally Department announced that this year they are offering a free entry to the
prestigious national RoadRally finale, the United States Road Rally Challenge.
Each Region can select one USRRC Rally Team for a free Regional entry to this
year’s championships in Kansas.
This year's USRRC takes place in Topeka, Kansas, the weekend of
October 20-22. The weekend begins with "Oz Has Spoken", a moderate-difficulty
course rally, written by Mike Thompson, that both veterans and newcomers will
enjoy. Geared to provide great roads and interesting scenery of rural Kansas,
the rally will employ a one page per leg instruction format with course following
and timing traps using both open controls and DIYC’S.
Saturday's "Over the Rainbow" features a standard written
route instruction format with brisk average speeds and passage controls. The beauty
of the countryside and the entertainment value of the roads will surprise you.
The weekend will conclude with a relatively short, sweet, all
paved GTA tour. While the driver is busy with the roads, Rallymaster Ron Ferris
has insured that navigators will have something to do also. They will need to
pay attention to find the Yellow Brick Road.
"There are some great driving roads here, and October is
a beautiful time of the year. Don’t pass up this opportunity to participate
in our national championship event, the third jewel of the championship crown
held in the grassroots motorsports capital of the world," states SCCA's Manager
of Region Development Mike Dickerson.

entry form. Each region was emailed a certificate for the free entry for submission
upon determination of who the lucky contenders will be as they explore the region
made famous by Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man.
