Yokohama ADVAN Volunteer of the Year Guidelines

The Yokohama ADVAN Volunteer of the Year Award is given during the SCCA National Championship Runoffs® to the volunteers who have contributed the most during the year* in their specialty. Ask yourself “what does the Volunteer of the Year look like?” The following questions are intended to help guide you when making nominations and get you thinking about people you’d like to acknowledge:

  1. Does this Volunteer support their specialty, event, region, competitors, fellow volunteers and the SCCA? If so, how do they do
    it?
  2. Has this Volunteer shown dedication and enthusiasm throughout the year?
  3. What distinguishes this Volunteer as unique? Do they exhibit strong skills, good leadership, and a willingness to go “beyond what is expected?”
  4. Did this Volunteer make a difference during a certain task or special situation? If so, how was their presence influential?

Our Volunteers are unique and special people in so many ways. They deserve to be recognized for their contribution to the sport and club we all enjoy. To nominate someone please send a detailed letter explaining why this person should be the 2006 Volunteer of the Year (please note, broiler plate letters will not be accepted). Submissions may be emailed to voy@scca.com or mailed to SCCA, c/o Club Racing Volunteer of the Year Award, PO Box 19400, Topeka, KS 66614. Nominations will be accepted until Sept 1, 2006.

*The year is defined from October 2005 to July 31, 2006.
