Nov 12, 2006 It was a rally just like any other, but the goal was a simple one. Have fun
and learn. No tricks today. Okay, well maybe only a few little ones. The event
form was simple tulip course following, with a progression in the math needed
to maintain the specified speed/time. We had a range of participants from The rally got off to a good start. Before we left the Log Cabin a one-hour, long-winded (yup, I can be) training class provided the basics. This rally is designed to hone everyone’s skills. If you can’t zero every control, then this rally is for you. The first leg provided overall times as well as incremental times, based on car zero. The Rally progressed, with less math help, until the contestants were using their own calculations without assistance. The rally format stressed a number of rally concepts, such as course following first, calculations second. What to do at a control and especially why you want to read the checkpoint slips. The typical pause and C(hange) A(verage) S(peeds) were covered. It’s that simple, and yet that complicated. If anyone has comments or ideas, please send them to me at cbraun@frontiernet.net. Thanks, sincerely Curtis Braun. Thanks to our Workers, we appreciate their time and skills:
