Combining the features of Solo (autocross) and a stage rally, a RallyCross event lets drivers race against the clock on a dirt course. Total elapsed time for a driver's multiple runs is used to determine the placings for the event. The exciting aspect of this new class of events is that stock street vehicles will be allowed to compete. Classes will be in accordance with the NEDiv Rallycross Series. Safety equipment required is stock or better seatbelts and a Snell M95 helmet (loaner helmets may be available).
As in Solo, competitors staff locations around the course for safety between their own runs. The course is relatively smooth and large rocks have been removed. There are elevation changes, and most of the course will be run in second gear (average speed was 37 mph).
Due to the nature of loose surfaces, the course condition will change throughout the event. This situation may necessitate a course change during the event if an unsafe or dusty condition arises.
The organizers have the right to change the course, AT ANY TIME, during the event to maintain a level of safety. As in performance or stage rally, there is no guarantee that all competitors will have the same course conditions.
