STPR: Alan Smith said they received a good report from the Stewards on the event. Only one incident where an ankle was sprained. STPR has requested the same dates for next year.

The Super Special on Thursday went over well. Spectators were charged $10.00, an increase from last year of $5.00. They gave discounts for veterans’, families etc.  Very well attended.

Other news from Charlie:

National Convention in January. Theme is “Level Up.”

National BOD candidates for next year in by Oct, 1st. Mike Toombs is running for Area 10 BOD.

Time Trials Nationals at Pitt Race September 19-21.

Runoffs start September 29th at Road America.

Dates for WGI next year: Trans-Am July 16-19. NASCAR at the Glen set for Mother’s Day next May. The ISMA 6 hours is in July, next year. Super Tour in June (FLR event) and Fun One dates will be announced in November.

Some discussion on getting members more involved in events. There is a lack of interest in meetings and other events. Seems like there is a core of 10-15 members that are involved in organizing and planning events in the region. There are 35 members with racing competition licenses – most are not involved in local region events. Other regions are trying things like Pot Luck dinner on Saturdays at race weekends. New England Region puts on CRE events to draw would be racers in. WGI charges us $93.00 a minute to use the track.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05 pm.

Marsha Toombs

Assistant Secretary
