September General Membership Meeting

 

Meeting called to order by RE Charlie Tanck at 7:30 PM.

Runoffs & Fun One

• Runoffs are scheduled for the week after the Fun One; this made it difficult securing stewards.

• Next year’s Fun One date is still under discussion due to NASCAR scheduling conflicts.

Racing & Events

• Last month’s racing Zoom call focused heavily on Race Experience, and we continue to face challenges competing with other race groups (NASA etc.).

• A regional race was held last weekend at Nelson Ledges. There were issues due to a lack of clear leadership. The event had 80 entries and included a catered dinner on Saturday night.

• Upcoming dates mentioned:

  • Hoosier Super Tour: June 18-20.

  • Glen Regional: July 31–August 1.

Conventions

• National Convention: January 15–20, on-line.

• NEDiv Convention: February 20 in Scranton, in person.

Membership

• Current membership stands at 426 members.

Activities

• We are planning a January banquet.

Solo

• Solo Nationals begin this month.

• Two recent events had over 100 drivers each.

• Final event of the year: October 4.

STPR

• STPR is projected to make money.

• Not all bills have arrived yet.

• No road damage occurred, so road deposit was returned.

Elections

• Chris Bucknam attempted to form a nomination committee, but ultimately secured three candidates willing to run for office.

• If Chris runs for RE, he must resign and appoint Jim Hoelscher as assistant RE.
