SPEEDWAY, IND. ~ The American Rally Association, presented by DirtFish, along with organizers
for the 2021 Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally regret to announce the cancellation of this
year’s event as part of the national championship.
STPR officials have been working extremely hard over the past several months to bring the popular event back to the national schedule. But increasing restrictions on use of roads and public areas made it impossible for organizers to obtain the necessary permits to have enough stage miles to host that level of an event this season.
Instead, STPR will become a one-day, ARA Regional and will count towards the ARA East Regional Championship. STPR will host its single-day regional on Saturday, September 18.
“It has been a roller-coaster trying to secure the permits we needed to run STPR in 2021,” said
James Monks, STPR Chairman. “Every time we made positive head way, we had to take another step or two back. It is frustrating to be so close and to have to cancel the national event for the second- straight year, but we are so grateful that our partners at Waste Management stepped up and gave us permission to use their roads this year.”
There are three ARA national championship events remaining in 2021: the Ojibwe Forests Rally
(August 27-28), Lake Superior Performance Rally (October 15-16) and the Oregon Trail Rally
(November 5-7). Remaining ARA Regional events: Rally Nevada, New York Forest Rally, Show-Me
Rally and Tour de Forest Rally.
